UJA Art Collecting Panel
Jan. 26
2019Last night, I was proud to be featured on a panel discussion at a Women’s Philanthropy event benefiting UJA Federation. The topic was How to Build an Art Collection, and featured myself, gallerist Lisa Diamond Katz from Art Interiors, and artists Dani Cooperman, Jordan Nahmias, and Samara Shuter. The event took place at the wildly colourful studio of Jessica Gorlicky.
I had a great time engaging with my fellow panelists, and discussing where to look for art on a budget, how to know whether an artwork is a sound investment, and navigating selecting artwork with your partner.

I was also heartened to hear about UJA’s incredible work in the community, where they fund arts programming, among their myriad initiatives. One such project, Disability/Visibility, at the Miles Nadal JCC, provides photography training to people living with disabilities, the benefits of which program director Steve Kean described glowingly. An entertaining evening for an outstanding cause certainly made venturing out into the stormy January night worthwhile.
